Business Skills Transfer Study · Findings
Findings
Research reports
No findings have been published yet.
Reports will appear here as the study develops. Each report will be reviewed before publication and will explain who responded, what they reported and how the findings should be interpreted.
What we will report
The study explores:
- How often business questions arise and which topics come up.
- How mentors, tutors, supervisors and coaches respond.
- The experience, training and resources they draw on.
- Where they set limits or suggest other sources of help.
- What would help them support practitioners with business questions.
Reports will include experiences of providing support and of choosing not to provide it. Findings that challenge assumptions or are commercially inconvenient will also be reported.
Reading the findings
Respondents' experiences
Findings describe the people who chose to take part. They should not be treated as a representative picture of all practitioner mentors, tutors, supervisors or coaches.
Support, not proven effectiveness
The study records what respondents say they do. It does not establish whether recipients acquire business skills or achieve better business outcomes.
Clear numbers and context
Reports will state the collection period, number of submissions and number answering each question. They will explain missing answers, relevant questionnaire changes and limitations.
Confidentiality
Individual responses will not be published. Small groups will be protected, and any written comments considered for quotation will be checked and edited or omitted to reduce the risk of identifying someone.

Looking for comparisons?
After submitting the questionnaire, participants can view selected comparisons when enough responses are available and privacy safeguards permit.
These comparisons are refreshed weekly where safe to publish. They are separate from the research reports published on this page.
Your personal support snapshot and practical guide are available immediately after submission, whether or not comparisons are ready.
Receive study updates
You can choose to receive findings and progress updates by email. Study-only updates do not promote GROW's paid courses or services.
Subscribing is optional and separate from taking part. Your email address will not be linked to your questionnaire answers.
